Through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;
To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke 1:78-79

Since 2010 God's Tender Mercy has loved orphans, taught children, and evangelized villagers.
Today, South Sudan is in a civil war. People experience ethnic killings, mutilations, rape, and famine. Unspeakable atrocities forced 2 million people to flee the country.
Among them... God's Tender Mercy orphans.
THEY'RE now REFUGEES in Uganda.

Troubled Past & Present
Sudan has been plagued by civil war for 62 years. From 1983, at least 2.5 million people were brutally murdered and 4 million displaced until South Sudan's nationhood in 2011, but peace would not last. Civil war erupted in 2013 killing at least 50,000 and 2 million were displaced. Famine threatens 5 million people. Africa's largest refugee crisis is underway, 90% are women and children.
Thanking & Praising Jesus!
Now refugees, God's Tender Mercy family is thanking and praising Jesus for suppling their needs! Most refugees are forced to live in overcrowded refugee camps with little resources. But God has made a way for our family to have a place to call their own. They want to share with other refugees the hope they have in Jesus. Many refugee's hearts are open to hearing how Jesus Christ is the way to forgiveness of sins and eternal life. It is our prayer that we stir up one another to love and good works and help the children at God's Tender Mercy. Pray for them as they reach out to other refugees with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Children’s Ministry
We are a family made up of many different tribes from South Sudan. Some children lost both parents, others lost one and were abandoned by the other. Today, however, they all call David and Grace their father and mother. David and Grace are raising them to know Jesus by teaching them through the Bible and living for Jesus. They are all arrows in our quiver to send out into the world to proclaim Jesus Christ! |
Outreach & Discipleship
Following Jesus is our calling as Christians. We love Jesus because He loved us first. Our desire is to tell others about God’s amazing grace and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ. Currently, we show the Jesus Film, share the Good News of Jesus with those willing to listen, distribute Proclaimers (solar powered audio Bibles in tribal languages) to create Bible listening groups, lead Bible teaching conferences and lead a Bible teaching fellowship at the GTM home. Outreach encompasses neighbors around the GTM home and in the nearby refugee camp. |
